The CICC is an international and intergovernmental cashew organization, created in November 2016. Its mission is to serve the community of member-producing countries through promotion, advocacy, knowledge sharing, innovation, partnership, and providing platforms for discussion on globally important issues related to the cashew value chains. Its objectives are to:
- Promote cooperation and consultation among member countries in the fields of research and development, technological innovation, production, processing, marketing, and consumption of cashew;
- Advocate for the interests of public and private stakeholders in the cashew sector;
- Promote the development of the cashew sector, propose, and coordinate the implementation of related policies as a strategy for economic and social development of its member states;
- Provide a framework for consultation and technical assistance among member countries by taking advantage of best practices and the successes of those member countries;
- Collect and analyze data and statistical information on sector development as well as the economic, trade, and legal policies applied at national, regional, and international levels;
- Disseminate and publish economic, statistical, scientific, and technical information on issues related to cashew;
- Capitalize on the achievements of the economic, trade, and industrial policies of member countries;
- Strengthen the capacities of member countries in the development of the cashew sector.
