Word from the President

Born from the will of the Governments of cashew-producing countries, the International Consultative Cashew Council (CICC) was established on November 16, 2016, in Abidjan, on the sidelines of the second edition of the International Exhibition of Cashew Processing Equipment and Technology (SIETTA), which took place in the capital of Côte d’Ivoire from November 17 to 19, 2016. Following the fifth ordinary session of the Council of Ministers of the Institution held from April 5 to 6, 2023, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the rotating Presidency is now held by Côte d’Ivoire, succeeding Cameroon.

The CICC aims to provide a framework for consultation and to promote the development of the cashew sector within the member countries through the coordination of policies and cooperation between states. To date, eleven countries are members of the Organization, namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, and Togo. It has international legal capacity and is open to all cashew-producing, processing, importing, and consuming countries.

The creation of the CICC follows various analyses and reflections of public and private stakeholders in the cashew sector at the national, regional, and international levels. The conclusions of these analyses were consolidated during the first edition of SIETTA in November 2014 in Abidjan and in the Accra declaration …

Word from the Executive Secretary

The Executive Secretariat is the second permanent body, after the Council of Ministers, and is responsible for the execution and implementation of the CICC’s mission.

It includes the Executive Secretary and the rest of the staff. The Executive Secretary oversees the Institution’s activities, based on the decisions of the Council of Ministers, and reports to the Council during its ordinary or extraordinary sessions.

The Executive Secretary is appointed by the Council of Ministers and is therefore the highest-ranking official of the CICC, accountable to the Council for the administration and functioning of the Executive Secretariat…

About CICC

The International Consultative Cashew Council (CICC) is an intergovernmental organization promoting cashew value chains worldwide. It was established on November 17, 2016, in Abidjan, on the sidelines of the 2nd edition of the International Exhibition of Cashew Processing Equipment and Technology (SIETTA). By adopting the convention establishing the CICC, the signatory countries confirmed the strategic importance of cashew as a lever for agricultural, economic, and social development in producing countries. The Organization aims to provide a framework for consultation and to promote the development of the cashew sector for member states through policy coordination and cooperation between states. To date, eleven countries are members of the CICC, namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, and Togo.
